Writing Your College Essay in Three Steps

Writing Your College Essay in Three StepsWriting your college essay in three steps is not the easiest task in the world. The college admissions committee will be judging you on your ability to compose a convincing essay, but they are also trying to find out if you can think of a coherent and well-organized outline of the piece you are trying to produce. It seems that just about everyone has different strategies for making it through the process of writing their college essay. Some of them are highly successful, while others are unsuccessful.I've heard a lot of different approaches to writing an essay. Some people use a good pen and paper; others like to use an online tool such as Quark or Scrivener. But the one approach that have always seemed to work for me, and that has given me the best results, is the three-step approach that I've outlined here.In this first step of the three step strategy, the topic of the essay is decided. Before you even start writing your first paragraph, you should come up with an interesting topic that will be the focus of your essay. You should also come up with a starting point for your research. In this step, you should decide what sort of research that you'll be doing and how much time it will take you to complete that research. In this next step, the topic is taken into consideration, and the topic is narrowed down. You may have started with a topic that might be overly general, and now it is more appropriate to try to narrow the topic down. And finally, you must decide on the essay's structure.Your topic and research should include enough information to enable the reader to grasp what your essay is all about. The essay should then be split into paragraphs, with a clear beginning, middle, and end.The final step involves a conclusion. Although it is common for a college applicant to add a little extra detail and justification to their essay, a more relevant conclusion is also more effective and appropriate.
